Grim Reality of Death: Unfailing Lesson for Everyone

Grim Reality of Death: Unfailing Lesson for Everyone

Death marks the end of temporary earthly life when the deceased enters the gateway of Afterlife “bare and all alone” like first time born from mother’s womb, “leaving behind” all the favors God (Quran, 6:94). You “are put in the (dark) grave” (80:21) of the ground now used as your roof that you so far used as floor for your walking all your life. You enter the grave, wearing 2-3 pieces of pocket less plain clothes with no capacity to take even a little bit of your rich wealth. No one from your big family can or will choose to accompany you. Even your beloved spouse who shared your bed entire life will now be scared to spend even a night beside your corpse. Your arrogance, atheism and other vices also join you in the grave to meet tragic end. Your wrestling grade muscular strength will also be powerless to stop the invisible Angel of Death from peeling off your immortal soul from your body and forwarding to an undisclosed destination under care of God. The mortal body will now be food for worms or fuel for fire for ending up in dust or ashes. Be reminded that death is also a great equalizer, for God does not discriminate among people (by their ranks or riches) in “causing death” (80:21). The death as an event is a matter of 100% certainty but nobody except God knows the exact time and place of death.
