About Author & Twin Dawah Books

Author’s Diary:

Back in April 1980, in an isolated location, the idea flashed upon my mind that I should write one or two books, covering most key contents of Islam. The purpose was to help the readers with saving enormous amount of time needed for reading countless books available on Islam. Then followed a long period of time when I was engaged in studying 3 versions of Quranic translations (by honorable scholars namely Yusuf Ali, Maududi and Shafi), then highlighting the key points for distributing them among 100 relevant but widely diverse Islamic topics, with total coverage of 2000 plus verses. These topics were later developed into 100 self- contained Islamic chapters (50 for each book), featured with interpretation in the light of moderation, the preferred middle path between extremism and liberalism. Only English translation was used for avoiding undesirable touch of Arabic Quran without ablution. Verses were cut short if needed for better relevance and smoother flow of expression ... Author’s Diary continues ...

The fruits of these efforts first made appearances in summary version of my 1982 publication “What is Islam?” (predecessor of “Islam for Non-Muslims”) and the manuscript “Who is a Muslim” that developed into today’s “Islam for Muslims”. These remarkably similar twin books contain most of Quranic key contents in 2000+ verses in total and they include the bulk of Islamic essentials in 100 diverse chapters. “Islam for Muslims” (in blue) and “Islam for Non-Muslims” (in green) were first published in 2012. Alhamdulillah their upgraded version was published in 2022 and their final version with marginal modifications is well underway for reprint by 2025 Inshallah. I am infinitely grateful for the Boundless Mercy of Allah swt as He guided and enabled me in every step to complete these books but I believe mistakes and imperfections still remain. I look forward to positive advice from the readers’ community that can help us updating and correcting any unintended factual mistakes.

Based on self-evaluation of my works done so far, I see myself as a humble writer and compiler, little bit of a thinker but not as a scholar or speaker. The pace of my works was remarkably slow mainly due to intervention in my time from my quest for living as well as single-handed nature of my work. I grew myself up as an independent learner of Islam all my life alongside my education leading to Ph.D. degree in Economics and teaching the same subject at the City University of NY. Anyway, upon conclusion of my writing phase, we are now set to begin the promotional stage with cooperation from our readers community. We pray and hope that Inshallah our writing products will fit in well as vital link of historic dawah movement that was jumpstarted by our beloved Prophet (pbuh) in 610 AD. Accordingly, the worldwide Muslims are welcome to make liberal use of our products amidst generous cooperation from us. Moderate Islam Global (MIG): What & Why?

Moderation:-

Moderation is the way of Islam. It is, in fact, not a divisive variety of Islam as some people sometimes misunderstand. In reality, it means interpreting or practicing Islam along the preferred middle course in between upper extremism and lower end liberalism. For example, the Prophet of Islam (s) advised his companions not to be over- enthusiastic to observe optional fasting for days in a row, bringing in physical hardships and challenges to halal income. On the other hand, he also did not like them to always forgo optional fasting particularly on selected days like Arafa & Ashura; additional to must-do Ramadan fasting. Thus moderation does not mean liberalism going to the extent of negligence in Islamic essentials.

Moderation Endorsed by the Holy Quran:
"We made you a balanced nation" (2:143).
"Adopt a middle course in your dealings" (31:19).
"Neither speak your prayer loud, nor speak in a low tone, but adopt a middle course between (two extremes)" (17:110).
"Be neither extravagant nor miser (in spending), but stand in between these (two limits)"; (25:67).

It appears from the above that objecting to the concept of moderation will ultimately amount to faithless opposition to the rulings of Quran. Obviously, moderation not only makes your life easier but it also achieves some desirable benefits like the way springtime is more likable than winter or summer weather. It also sets tone of optimism like For example, moderation as a 'go-between' is better positioned to build bridges between strict practitioners of Islam and its liberal adherents.

Islam:-

Among 4 sources of Islamic laws (Sharia), MIG accords highest priority to the Quran, followed by the Prophet’s tradition (Hadith). Accordingly, almost one-third key Quranic verses (nearly 2,200 out of 6,666 verses with barely any repetitions) became part of the twin books covering 100 chapters on diverse Islamic essentials. Hadiths were also used as supporting ornaments. Best possible attempts were made to leave no important contents outside of these books.

Global:-

MIG took upon the mission of spreading out the Messages of God among both global Muslims and Non-Muslims alike for whom the universal religion Islam was meant. Thus justice is done to the Non-Muslims who proportionately number more than 3 for each Muslim on earth. This is in keeping with God’s revelations: “Oh People! After the break in the series of prophets, The Prophet (Muhammad pbuh) has come to you, making things clear to you so that later (on Judgment Day) you cannot say ‘No one came to us with good news and warn us from evils’ (5:19)
