12 : HUMAN KINDNESS IS ONLY A REFLECTION OF GOD'S KINDNESS
A rational
human being usually tends to be kind to his fellow
beings. Love between couples, friendship between
mates and parental affection are simply part of
that tendency. These good relations among the
social beings are valuable source of mental peace
that is badly needed in this disturbing world.
Though you can play a part in building this peace
through your kind action or reaction, you cannot
be a sole architect of peace much of which is
outside your control. For example, most people
begin their married life with a dream of lasting
partnership but for some unlucky couples, divorce
turns this daydream into nightmare. In this way,
cruelty (committed through murder, torture etc.)
to those who once were dear ones like parents,
children, siblings, friends etc. shows the impacts
of negative kindness or punishment of God.
All these examples indicate that human kindness
leading to good social relations and peace is
not regularly available even though we eagerly
long for that. In fact, human kindness is a divine
blessing as regulated by God and it is available
so long He does not want to remove it. When He
wants to displace it, then it is gone and it is
only then people can become most cruel to their
dearest ones. Thus, human kindness is like a reflection
or shadow of the divine kindness. In other words,
you enjoy kindness of your fellow beings as long
as shadow of God's kindness or His blessing is
on and you are deprived of it when this shadow
is gone. Now the question is: how can human kindness
take effect from God? The answer lies in His power
to influence the mind, decision and action of
the living beings. He will bless you with this
power if your good actions weigh heavy.
