11 : HUMAN ROLE IS A NECESSARY AND THE DIVINE ROLE IS A SUFFICIENT CONDITION
God
is the Omnipotent, the All-powerful. He can do
everything and there is nothing He cannot do.
Even if He can do everything, He does not do all
by Himself. He Himself created and manages everything
ranging from the largest galaxies to smallest
microbes. As regards worldly matters, He delegates
some powers to the means under control of human
beings. Accordingly, parents produce child, farmers
produce crops, doctors cure diseases and so on.
But the real power behind doing these jobs lie
in the hands of God. These media can have their
jobs well done as long as the divine approval
or cooperation is in place. If God wishes otherwise,
then they become powerless and helpless like the
parents get aborted births, farmers get crop failures
and doctors watch their patients dying.
We therefore need to realize that for getting
things done, the role of a human medium is necessary
as long as God view it necessary but such medium
is far from being a sufficient condition. Obviously,
without divine sanction, a medium cannot do anything.
By contrast, God can do anything even without
the help of a medium. For example, He created
Jesus without any father, supplied heavenly food
to his mother Mary and so on. We should therefore
keep in mind the differences in the roles of necessary
condition (human medium) and sufficient condition
(God).
In our real life examples abound showing that
you read too much into human roles for getting
a job done while ignoring or overshadowing the
role of God as you give a big thank or praise
to the medium and a small one to God. In doing
so, you not only bypass the reality but also risk
a major sin named Shirk (partnership). For example,
people often tend to give full credit to the professional
skill of a pilot for the safety of his flight.
You must remember that if God did not favor the
pilot with good weather or continuation of sound
mechanical system, he could not avoid an accidental
crash of the plane. Similarly, when you praise
the doctor for saving your son's life, the kindness
of God in doing so is totally absent in your mind.
In order to avoid such blunder, whenever you express
your gratitude to any person for any helpful action,
you should be mindful to do the following: (a)
you give multiple thanks to God if you give one
to a human medium or (b) at least you should keep
the idea alive in mind that the most important
part in any creditable achievement was played
by God.
