Only Your Personal
Good Deeds Count with Allah Toward Your Salvation
If
you look back historically, you can see that the greatest Prophets of Allah swt
could not secure salvation of their dearest persons. Examples include the son of Noah, father of
Abraham, wife of Lot and uncle Abu Taleb of Muhammad (peace be upon them) among
others. They all got dua and pro-guidance invitation from their related Prophets
but all these fell short of Afterlife salvation for their stubborn lacking of
faithful good deeds. Likewise, absent your faith and good deeds, you cannot
ensure your safety from Hellfire and a placement in the Paradise, even if you
happen to be born of pious parents or die on the holy land of Mecca or at the
holy night of Friday. Thus there is no short cut to your personal deeds and
there cannot be any proxy to do that on your behalf. When you die, you go to
the grave “bare and alone” to face grim uncertainties of Afterlife (Quran,
6:94).
